She has signed a movie with him already, with Rumi Jaffrey! They will shoot it at the end of the year.
These medias are really saying anything... The expressionless thingy was burried since long now! Personnally, I'm waiting for an official statment by either Karan Johar, either Kareena.

the only reason karan actually came out and said its going to be a remake and no crap like o its a different kind of film, something new 2 hindi cinema is because they know hwood is watchen bwood hard cuz of so many scene to scene copies so i tink karan might actually pay the producers of step mom the rights to use it. that seems fair instead of copying ideas and not giving credit for it

There is no news as the movie will go on the floor at the end of the year. But it can't be hopeless because she signed it already, she is very much professionnal I mean, the fact there is no press news since her statement doesn't mean it's not going to happen. I don't think she would make any statement before signing the contract...

She also signed Kismat Talkies, Lajja, and Bajirao Mastani, all of which fell apart for one reason or the other.

In an industry where money transactions are unpredictable and dicey, John Abraham’s gesture comes as a pleasant change. John was set to work with Ashtavinayak Cine Vision for a film to be directed by Rumi Jaffrey, opposite Kareena Kapoor, but the film was shelved.
When John got to know of it, he offered to return the signing amount of Rs 4 crore to the producers, but they refused to take the money back saying the amount would be adjusted at some later date.
Our source says, “Ashtavinayak and John have always had a healthy working relationship. He was also scheduled to work in a film with Imtiaz Ali earlier but the project didn’t work out. John was then signed on to work with them in David Dhawan’s film Hook Ya Crook.
He was also signed on for Rumi Jaffrey’s film but the project did not work out because of some differences between Ashtavinayak and Rumi. John was very keen to do the film but when he found out that the project would not work out, he called Raj Mehta of Ashtavinayak and offered to return the signing amount.
Raj Mehta was moved by John’s gesture, especially in an industry where people have to fight back to get their money back when a film does not take off. He was so impressed that he told John to keep the money, assuring that they will work together in the future.”
When we spoke to John Abraham to confirm the story, he said, “I share an extremely good relationship with Ashtavinayak and Raj Mehta. I have no idea what transpired between Rumibhai and Ashtavinayak and why the film is not happening. My commitment is with Ashtavinayak and it stands.
As far as the signing amount is concerned, we don’t keep anyone’s money and I told them that I wanted to return the amount. However, they told me that I should keep the money and that it was like a commitment to work together in the future.”
We tried to check the facts with Ashtavinayak official, but he remained unavailable for comment. However, Rumi Jaffrey clarified, “There is no problem between Ashtavinayak and me.
It is just that I got busy with my film Life Partner and completed it in five months. I met John on the sets of Hook Ya Crook and now I will meet Kareena again and take it forward.”

I hope its true. Kareena's at a stage in her career where hse cant risk all these debutante directors. Most of her directors right now are debutante...even for THIS movie with kajol. Prem Soni, Sabbir Khan, Rensil D'Silva, and now this guy Siddhart. Atleast she has Raju Hirani, Sriram and Sudhir Mishra to balance it out.

I haven't read this article before... But she confirmed it herself in Oops issue (magazine). You remember she signed 3 Ashtavinayak's movies? She said it was the third, it's already in her contract. If you read in the Oops issue (I don't remember the month), she even talks about the places where they will shoot, and when also.
Could you please show me where she said she signed Kismat Talkies, Lajjo and Bajirao Mastani? For Lajjo, Ratnam said he picked Aamir & she, but he had no script yet; she said she was excited but she never signed anything. It was just announced, as any other movie. As far as I know, you can't cancel a contract like that... neither sign for a movie when there is no script!

Reliable sources say his production house has bought the rights of the Hollywood flick StepMom; that the media already knows will be made with Karans two favourite girls Kajol and Kareena Kapoor. Talk is that the film will not be a copy, but will draw inspiration from the sensitive Susan Sarandon-Julia Roberts flick that left the audience teary eyed. Filmmakers these days want to take no chances.
Everyone knows that recently the producers of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button issued a statement in the newspapers warning Bollywood filmmakers against copying their film. The established filmmakers in town definitely dont want to take any chances. Looks like if producers wish to make a remake of a foreign film hence forth, they will definitely want to acquire the official rights, so that nothing is left to chance.

For some time now, Kareena has been on Zoya's wish list, but she was hesitant about signing the film. When contacted, Kareena says, “Yes, I have signed Zoya's film with Hrithik Roshan. Hrithik is a very good actor and I am looking forward to working with him once again.”

Kareena Kapoor is excited about the "double bonanza" of working in Mani Ratnam's new film "Lajjo" with Aamir Khan for a co-star.
"I feel I'm in seventh heaven. First the amazing response to 'Omkara' and now I've signed a formal contract for Mani Ratnam's film. He wants me to prepare for the role until next winter," she said.

It is a dream come true to be finally working with Sanjay in Bajirao Mastani. It's great that Sanjay thinks I have Mastani's innocence, beauty and vulnerability and has enough faith in my histrionics to entrust me with a role of such epic proportions.

Yea so all those movies were also "signed" and finalzied, but for one reason or another, they fell apart.
And I'm praying that the movie with john and kareena, the astaviyanka was also fell apart. No work is being done on it and I'm hoping the entire idea is dropped.
John's not doing this movie either btw guys. He refused, lol

really that sucks a lot of her big movies were dropped especially mani ranthams movie with aamir that wud b one for sure to look it out 4
and now a karan johar film hopefully she doesn't refuse and dey probally gunna rope in srk LOL im preety sure karan is happy abt that
